Reichsmarschall Göring: Master Manipulator
Herman Göring, head of the Luftwaffe, had asked established manufacturers to come up with a superior warplane that could outmatch anything the Allies had. They balked, saying it couldn’t be done. A frustrated Goring turned his attention to relatively unknown designers, the Horten brothers. Impressed with their designs, he contracted them to design and build their delta-wing aircraft. And they didn’t let him down. The plane was real, and not only did it fly, but it proved to be a superior in every way, outmatching and outperforming anything the German or Allied designers had at their disposal.
