SHORT BIO
Robert Stermscheg is a Canadian prairie author, transplanted from Western Europe. Now firmly settled into his adopted country of Canada, Robert embarked on a police career that spanned 26 years. It was while he was engaged with his duties that Robert honed his writing craft writing precis, court briefs and police reports. Still, what Robert really wanted to do was write fiction.
He started in a most unusual way –translation. He’s always had an affinity for languages and what better way to begin the process than introducing a famous German author, Karl May, to an English speaking audience. Coincidentally, Robert found time to collaborate with his father, John Stermscheg, and writing his memoir, POW #74324, detailing his father’s early life as a German POW. This, as well as Robert’s love for aviation, spurred him on to doing research on aviation set in WWII. It came as no surprise that Robert decided on writing a mystery thriller based on the Horten brothers aircraft, the Ho-229. The novel, entitled Stealth, explores the concept of a stealth aircraft in the 1940s.
