Oldies but Goodies

I’m sure many of you remember listening to music on a cassette tape, perhaps on a reel-to-reel player. These were predated by 8-track tapes, however, all lost out to the CD. Ah, those were the days.

What was remarkable was how quickly the changes came. One of these came with the advent of audiobooks. They started out (in limited form) on LPs, then moved to the cassette, and as they gained popularity on to CD format. How many can remember walking down the street and listening to a favourite author on your Walkman or Discman?

But before you knew it, technology eclipsed them all and introduced us to the MP3 format. I think about the ease with which you can download an Ebook or audiobook from your favourite retailer and listen within minutes. Wow! That’s innovation.

Tell me about your favourite author (any genre) in the comments, and you’ll be entered in a free draw of my latest book, Stealth, a WW2 historical fiction novel. Ebook or audiobook.
